The Circlebox Monthly: 7th July 2009

I didn’t know what to call my news updates, so I’ve decided to call them ‘The Circlebox Monthly’.

The Circlebox Network

The Circlebox Network is well under way now, having been opened for almost 2 weeks. The word is getting around, and I hope for traffic to increase when I start posting more content and getting more work. As most of you reading this probably already know, the network consists of three different blogs: Circlebox Creative, Circlebox Blog & Circlebox Textures. Circlebox Creative is my portfolio, I’ll simply display my design work and photography there and nothing more. Circlebox Blog is the replacement of my old blog (blog.callumchapman), and will have regular posts from me and the occasional guest author. The posts will come under one of the following categories: Articles, Inspiration, News, Quick Links, Resources and Tutorials – you should get the gist from that! Circlebox Textures is a completely new site, and is dedicated to releasing free high resolution textures, and possibly the odd tutorial that involves textures!

Traffic Sources

Going down the road of traffic, the first couple of weeks for both Circlebox Blog and Circlebox Textures have been relatively good.

Circlebox Blog has brought in 3,969 visits from 119 different countries all over the world! The majority of visits have been from referring sites, with the top 4 referrers being Good-Tutorials, blog.callumchapman (my old blog!), Pixel2Life and Google!

Circlebox Textures has had a decent start considering the blog is brand new and doesn’t (as of yet) have all that much content. It has had a total of 1,366 visits from 98 different countries all over the world. Again, most of the visits have been from referring sites, the top four being Good-Tutorials, Texture Lovers, Brushes Download and blog.callumchapman.

Circlebox Creative is behind the other two blogs, with only 41 visits. I’m hoping this will increase when I get more work posted in my portfolio, and more content written on my other blogs.

Guest Authors

I’m currently looking for guest authors for both Circlebox Blog and Circlebox Textures. If you think you have what it takes to write an awesome article, tutorial or inspiration post then let me know! On the texture side of things, if you want to post a pack of textures on Circlebox Textures please send me a couple of previews and we’ll discuss what’s to happen next.

What’s happening?

There have been a lack of posts on Circlebox Blog, and I apologise for that. I’m currently unemployed, and am looking for a part or full time job. I’ve got an interview for a Junior Designer job at Hotel Chocolat, so for the next couple of days I’m preparing and getting my hand-held portfolio up to scratch!

For now that’s all I have to share – I’ll be putting more work in to the blogs over the next couple of weeks, so keep an eye open for more posts! Take care and see you around!
