9 Inspiring Logos in Cambridge

I was walking around Cambridge City Centre yesterday with my Fiancée, and as always, I was on the lookout for great design. I’ve decided now to make a post on some of the great logos that stand out to me and stick in my head every time I go to Cambridge.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t in Cambridge when I thought of the idea, and I won’t be going back for at least a few weeks (my next visit will be when I’m getting a new Mac!) so I’ve browsed the internet thoroughly to find some of the logos I remember most: Thank you to those that put all these photos on the web! Please note that not all of the photos are of the actual Cambridge Stores, but are all the same logos! ;)

This first logo for a cool restaurant called ‘Giraffe’ really inspires me. It’s simple, yet so eye-catching, and stands out to me and my fiancée every time we visit Cambridge – we’re yet to go in there though and see if they’re food matches the quality of their logo!

Relentless is a relatively new energy drink that seems to be popping up all over the place. They’ve got some real nice packaging – their logo only makes it better!

I don’t think Sky shops exist (I’ve never seen one?), but there are always little stalls in the Grand Arcade and the Grafton Centre in Cambridge, with their logo plastered all over them. It always catches my attention, even though Sky doesn’t work in my house in the Summer when the trees have leaves!

EAT. is a café that I’ve only been in once (they were just as expensive as Starbucks, but not as nice in my opinion), but I always take a look at their simple yet very effective logo when I’m walking by!

Fat Face is a cool little clothing shop, dedicated to people that love the great outdoors. They even have a old Hippy Van (VW Camper) door hanging from the wall! The logo is different to all the others in Cambridge, and thought it was worth a mention!

Everybody knows HMV (His Masters Voice), and I think just about every store has a different version of their logo above it. There are text based ones, text and image based ones, and just image based ones!

Cult is one of my favourite shops when it comes to clothes, they’re one of the biggest suppliers of the clothing brand ‘Superdry’ in the UK, and rather expensive, too. They’re industrial, stencil-like type can never be forgotten!

As mentioned earlier, Cult are one of the biggest suppliers of Superdry. Superdry is probably one of my favourite logos of all time, I just love the Japanese (?) type!

Now I’ll leave you with one of the most recognized logos in the world… There’s no need to explain what it is!

What is your favourite logo in Cambridge?

If you liked this post, retweeting it, stumbling it, digging it etcetc would be much appreciated! If you fancy doing a round up of your favourite (or least favourite) logos in your local town or city, give me a shout – I’d love to post them here at Circlebox Blog!
